A short history In 997 the Viking king Olaf Trygvesson, founded a city and named it Nidaros after the beautiful river there. Many decades later the city was renamed Trondheim which can be found located in the central part of Norway. This city became the centre of trade, art and entertainment in Northern Europe.
The people of Trondheim are known for their generosity, care and kindness to whoever may be in need. The city embraces 25,000 Norwegian and exchange students from around the world every year and many researchers, teachers, engineers and artists seek a new life in this small beautiful and peaceful city. Ski jumping at Granosen is a popular winter sport for tourists.
