True Murder Stories from Thailand

Due to a new-found writing passion, I wish to share with you some true murder stories from around Thailand. One of the reasons for these stories and hopefully many more to follow, is my desire to write a full-blown novel.

Although this website is essentially travel related, I am hoping to gain some valuable knowledge about writing in general. After first trying a hand at publishing my traveling experiences abroad, I hope to put pen to paper and write a suspense thriller of sorts. I am busy researching a few ideas.

It would help if you could leave any comments you may have about my writing skills. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to make contact.

German Bar Murder

True Murder Stories

Murder at the Bar

One never knows when things can go horribly wrong and when frustration can take a tragic turn for the worst. Some say that revenge can be bitter sweet and that there are no winners, only losers. Take the circumstance that occurred on the evening of Thursday 3rd December 2009. A murder most foul had been committed at Kenya's Romantic Garden in Jomtien. It would appear to be a drug related stabbing brought on by frustration.

Frustration bestowed upon a member, thought initially to be kindly soul or so it seemed, who life was now spiraling downhill due to a drug addiction. Perhaps waiting to for the next fix was too much to bare. At the time of the arrest, the culprit was found carrying a single Yaba* tablet and also appeared to be under the influence of some sort of substance abuse.

The victim was a 48 year old German Bar owner named Peter Schroth and the transgressor, a 30 year old fellow German named Timo Bloch. It seems that Timo attacked Peter with a knife out of revenge for not having being paid for construction work done on preparing a website for the bar owner.

The Case Continues

It was a case of a little too late for rescue services to assist Peter as he lay in a pool of blood on the ground in the main bar. He had been stabbed five times altogether. Twice through the heart and as he tried to escape, once in his back, once on his left side and finally once in his stomach.

His Thai wife to whom the attacker was known, had witnessed the whole nine yards. She later clarified that a verbal altercation had erupted after which the madman produced a knife from a bag he was carrying and began his ferocious raged-fueled frenzy. At the time nobody seemed aware as to the reasoning behind the heated argument turned hatred. The culprit had on occasions come to the bar asking to be paid for previous work done.

Police were informed of an address at the Chao Praya Resort in southern Pattaya where the suspect was subsequently arrested. He was taken to the police station and placed behind bars where he remained to allow the effects of the narcotics to dissipate. He now faces a charge of murder.

One would have thought that after such a gruesome killing, the suspect would want to get the hell out of dodge city but no... What does he do. He heads right back to his former lodgings. Not the best of career moves.

As the suspects defense became apparent, it was clear that the reasoning behind this dirty duty-bound deed was for unpaid monies for having built a website that will for now anyway, on longer be needed. It was also mentioned that the waiting period had exceeded it's due course.

It was a clear case of... I need the money now or else. Else meaning... New measures need to be deployed. What a silly man. A lengthy spell in a Thai Prison will allow for some quiet contemplation to take place.

Words of anger, insults, threats, warnings and refusal to pay outstanding bills where flying around in the early evening air. Anger turned to hatred and now one less person walks the earth. The moral of this story... You really need to pay your bills especially the ones to drug addicted Germans.

*Yaba is a combination of methamphetamine and caffeine. It simply means crazy medicine in Thai. The drug is popular in Asian communities as well as the USA and is increasingly available at rave and techno parties.
