Thank you Letter from Abroad

Receiving a thank you letter from abroad complimenting you on all the hard work you put into whatever it is that inspires you, really makes the effort so much more rewarding. I have toiled for many an hour to write about my many experiences and explorations in Thailand. It's a fantastic feeling to get words of thanks from people around the world who have taken the time to respond to my writings.

Below is a email thank you letter I received from Jack in California. Jack was responding to an article I wrote about the lady boys of Thailand.
It's a thank you letter you need to read with an open-mind.

Thank you letter from Jack

Hi Grahame! Thank you for taking the time to write to me. It is a thrill to be chatting with you in Thailand from here in California, on the coast about thirty miles south of San Francisco.

It's a lovely site you have Grahame. Very well done, with lots of good information. You are lucky to spend so much of your time in Thailand.
I hope your dream comes true so that you are able to retire there!!

Me

I put off writing about the Ladyboys of Thailand on my website for quite some time because I just couldn't seem to think what to say at first. My intentions were never to offend anyone but at the same time I wanted to let visitors get a glimpse of what they might expect when confronted with Ladyboys, particularly if it were their first time in the country. I also tried to add in a little humour to the article too. I hope you enjoyed the read.

Jack

I'm sure everybody wants to know about the famous Ladyboys! Thailand is the only country in the world where you can find them, so many of them. Is it true Grahame that there are television shows with Ladyboys? Shows with variety and beauty pageants? I would love to see them in beautiful evening gowns and woman's bathing suits!

Me

Don't get me wrong, Ladyboys are worthy of admiration and respect and they put on some excellent performances, be it in the form of a variety show or the beauty pageants. I have had the good fortune to have seen most of the shows many times over. They are not to be missed. One of my all time favourites is the one at Patong in Phuket called Moulin Rouge. It is located at the end of the first street to your left off Bungla Road.

Moulin Rouge is an informal Ladyboy show and the beauty of it, you can go there anytime of the night and watch the show over and over again.

You only have to pay once so you can spend the whole night there if you like. Of course all the ladyboys expect tipsbut you will have a great time there, so it's well worth it. Also in the small street where the show is located, arebars filled with ladyboys. On many occasions the street attracts more tourists than any of the other "normal" beer bars around.

Jack

That sounds like a lot of fun! I would like a club that is open late. Is it true Grahame that a famous show club like! Tiffany's is only open from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm? That seems way too early to be out on the town!

Me

Yes! this may be so but the last show ends around midnight. You are more than welcome to hang around outside with the ladies, have your photo taken and engage in some chit-chat. You must remember the nightlife entertainment doesn't have to end there either. There are many other places to meet lady boys.

Jack

That's what I would do if I could come there, Grahame, go to the nightclubs to enjoy the shows. I admire Ladyboys much like you do. I have a lot of respect for the ones who are professional entertainers, who work hard to give a feminine appearance to their audiences. Do many of them of these entertainers have extensive women's wardrobes such as gowns, jewelry, etc?

Me

Sorry, I haven't been down this particular road but I'm sure they do.

This is where Jack's thank you letter gets even more interesting

Jack continues

I must tell you Grahame I have a bit of a Ladyboy in myself! Right now I have my fingernails and my toe-nails polished a bright red. Luckily I have a job that permits me to be a bit girly. I get my nails done at a woman's beauty shop in townhere. I get a pedicure as well as a manicure. There are other men who also get manicures at this salon, according to what the manicurist told me.

I also always am wearing Victoria's Secret lace panties. I love panties, and the more lace the better!

I would so love to spend a night with a lovely Ladyboy, Grahame! For some reason, I find guys who have had hormones but not surgery to be much more attractive than transsexuals who have had the surgery.

It must be an ancient myth we have buried in our subconscious of the androgynous person, half male, half female. I once saw a photo of a Roman statue. The body was a that of a womam, woman's face and breasts. But he/she had male genitals! I presume Ladyboys have shaved bodies?

Me

Thai people in general have less overall body hair than that of their western counterparts.

Jack

If you have the time, Grahame, I would love to hear from you every now and then. Again, thank you so much for this inside look of what it's like to be there. I hope you can have more and more, longer and longer stays in Thailand! May you meet many beautiful Ladyboys! All the very best! Jack. (Jacqueline)

Thank you letter from Geoff

Geoff

Hi Grahame! Just a note to say how much I appreciate the chat we were able to have at Seattle Coffee Shop in Cape Town, South Africa recently. We are really looking forward to visiting Thailand later this year and to receiving your recommendations. Hope your 2011 is very happy, healthy and prosperous.

Me

It was an absolute pleasure. I love talking about Thailand. Some people think I talk too much but I just don't know when to stop.

Thank you letter from Alan

Alan

Hi Grahame! Firstly let me congratulations on a very good, article. I have been to Thailand 3 times and I am getting ready for my 4th trip. Last year I went on a Night River Cruise and Buffet which from memory, started from the River Side Hotel in Bangkok. To your (vast) knowledge, is this still available? I will be travelling from 3rd to 20th December 2010. Thanks again for a brilliant insight into Thai Culture and way of life. Wonderful country and wonderful people. Alan Jacks.

Me

To my (vast) knowledge, I do beleive it is, however there are many other Night River and Buffet Cruises available to you that sail up and down the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok.
