Short Mystery Stories from Thailand
Due to a new-found writing passion, I wish to share with you a few short mystery stories from around Thailand. One of the reasons for these stories and hopefully many more to follow, is my desire to write a full-blown novel. Although this website is essentially travel related, I am hoping to gain some valuable knowledge about writing in general. After first trying a hand at publishing my traveling experiences abroad, I hope to put pen to paper and write a suspense thriller of sorts. I am busy researching a few ideas. Taxi Rider RapeShort Mystery StoriesTaxi Rider RapeA young Thai lady from the coastal town of Jomtien near Pattaya arrived at a nearby police station claiming she'd been raped by a knife-wielding motorcycle taxi rider. It's not uncommon for Thai's and tourists to hitch rides on these motorcycle taxis. Although riders wear clothing to suggest their presence, it is no indication as to their objectionable intentions.Somewhere along the route home, the taxi rider stopped the bike with the pretext into taking a pee and subsequently pulled out a knife. He then threatening to harm the lady if she did not preform a sexual act with him. According to the police report, the driver abandoned the frighten girl at the side of the road after committing the crime. Once the statement was filed at the station, the young lady undertook a medical examination at the local hospital to assess her health condition. Investigators where immediately sent out to hunt down the mysterious and loathsome perpetrator for his horrendous crime.
Drowning MysteryShort Mystery StoriesDrowning MysteryThe mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified young white male found floating face down in Lake Mabprachan, has baffled police. The lake is situated in the country side and only a short distance from Pattaya City. A local fisherman had discovered the body floating in the water near a pumping plant.Police, medics and a doctor were immediately dispatched to investigate. No one seems to know how the man got caught up in his untimely and tragic departure. It is believed that this young man had been in the water for at least two days. He was found fully clothed and with no identification on him, he was soon removed and taken away for further examination. Could it have been suicide, a murder or just an unlucky fatal accident. An investigation would undoubtedly give rise to the exact cause of death. One possible answer could be in the number of empty beer bottles found lying around the nearby area. Perhaps he had been drinking one too many. Tourists tend to drink a tremendous amount of alcohol when visiting Pattaya and it's quite possible that this lead to the young man's demise.
