Short Murder Stories from Thailand

Due to a new-found writing passion, I wish to share with you a few short murder stories from around Thailand. One of the reasons for these stories and hopefully many more to follow, is my desire to write a full-blown novel.

Although this website is essentially travel related, I am hoping to gain some valuable knowledge about writing in general. After first trying a hand at publishing my traveling experiences abroad, I hope to put pen to paper and write a suspense thriller of sorts. I am busy researching a few ideas.

It would help if you could leave any comments you may have about my writing skills. Scroll down to the bottom of this page to make contact.

Pakistan Tourist Murder

Short Murder Stories

Pakistan Tourist Murder

It all started on New Year’s day. The crime was a homicide. The victim was a tourist from Pakistan. The executioner was a Thai national. The scene of the crime was the Sound of India Pub and Restaurant at the New Day-Night Hotel in south Pattaya. The murder weapon was a knife.

The motive was... well... what really is a motive for murder. A hatred of another human being. Surely there are alternatives. Clearly not in this case it seems. A young life lost over a silly argument or was there more.

The police finally got their man when they traced him to his home town in the Suphanburi province of central Thailand. He ran a food stall business there. Brought back for questioning, the perpetrator soon re-enacted the events that happened at the crime scene several months earlier.

He told the police that he had previously worked in the bar at the Sound of India Pub and Restaurant at the time. He also stated that an argument developed between him and a group of Pakistani tourists and that he then stabbed one of the young victim thereby causing his untimely death.

By justifying his actions, the Thai said that it was a regrettable death but an act of self defense and that he had been severely beaten a number of times as he tried to flee the angry mob. The stabbing was unavoidable he said. Yeah! tell that to the judge. If it really was the case, why hadn't he reported the altercation to the police immediately after the incident.

Murder at the Pond

Short Murder Stories

Murder at the Pond

Another homicide. Another victim but no murder weapon and no offender. Police had got there hands full here. Full of nothing that is. It all happened so suddenly. First there was the sound of gunshots. Then sheer silence.

Hearing several sharp thunderous bangs rip though the still air, a local resident, quick to act, jumped onto his motorbike and sped to where he thought the noise had appeared. On his way to the scene of the crime, he noticed a fellow countryman unknown to him, cruise past on a motorcycle at a very high speed. On arriving at a nearby pond, he then noticed a Thai man lying on the ground with blood still pouring from several head wounds.

Police and medics were immediately dispatched but unfortunately there was little they could do as the man was already dead. Three gunshot wounds to anyone's head would in all probability be fatal. The victim was a 28 year old Thai national. It appears that he had gone to the pond for a leisurely spot of fishing. A fishing rod and the deceased’s parked car was found near the body. There were no signs of a struggle either, indicating a quick death, probably execution-style. Another one bites the dust.

Relatives of the dear departed were soon on the scene telling all who were willing to listen that this young man had recently arrived from the north of Thailand. One can only wonder as to the motive of this crime which took place in southern Thailand. An ongoing investigation is currently underway.

Fatally Stabbing

Short Murder Stories

The Jealous Lover

A crime of passion can happen when one partner suspects the other of having an affair of any sort. Be it a casual friendship or full blown adultery. What can transpire next is anyone's guess. Take the case of the jealous Thai lady who could no longer contain her outrage on discovering her partner was seeing other women.

It matters not that one spends many loving years together but when one strays, the other is sure to go on the warpath. Thai's are no exception. It can only be a terrifying experience to be on the receiving end of a possible fatal knife attack as happened to a 39 year old Thai lady in Pattaya.

The jealous lover couldn't contain her anger as she plunged the knife deep into the chest of her partner. It only took a moment and soon the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately she died shortly thereafter.

Police later found the 35 year old suspect together with a bloodied kitchen knife at a guesthouse the couple both shared. All hell broke loose when the two women fought until one lay dying on the floor. No guess as to who had done the dirty deed. The suspect now faces murder charges and time in a Thai Prison Numerous short murder stories continue making headlines.
