Retirement Visa for Thailand

If a Retirement Visa is the reason that you are on this page, then like me, you may have fallen in love with Thailand and would like to know how you can retire in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I have travelled on many continents but there is nothing quite like the charm and warmth of the Thai people. Oh! and what fantastic weather.

Now that you've been here, done that and would like to settle down to a beautiful life in a beautiful place. First of all you need to be over 50 years of age to apply and the rest is relatively easy. You can apply for your visa at a Thai Consulate in your home country or you could apply for one at a Thai Consulate in Thailand.

For more information you can go to www.thaivisa.com

Application for these visas in your home country are called Non-Immigrant O-A category visas.

Application for these visas in Thailand are called Non-Immigrant O category visas.

In both cases you can apply for single or multiple entries. If you are not going to do any other travelling and you wish stay in Thailand during your retirement, then a single entry will be fine. If you are like me and need to constantly explore the earth, then a multiple entry is a must.

Once you have all your documentation in order and you have arrived in Thailand, you will be given permission to stay for 90 days. Towards the end of this term, you will need to go to a local Immigration office where you will receive a further 90 daysafter you have completed a form showing you current address and phone number. And thats it for another 90 days.
