Accommodation at the Luxury Resorts in Khao Lak is of an extremely high standard considering the extensive devastation caused by the 2004 tsunami. Though much of what happened during those tough times might be in the past, some remnants remain a constant reminder to all of you wishing to visit this remarkable seaside resort.
It's truly amazing that the people of Thailand, including many tourists to the region have an incredible ability to put the past behind them and move forward instantly and without too much fuss.
The trend in and around Khao Lak has now become very much up-market due to the large-scale refurbishments many hotels had made.
This leaves little chance of you finding anything under a four-star beach resort. With this in mind, living in luxury every now and then cannot be such a bad thing. Because of my passion for all things Thai, I'm compiling a list of some of the best hotels and resorts in Khao Lak including those on the beaches of Bang Niang and Nang Thong.
I'd also like to say heartfelt thanks to all you good folks who have been kind enough to secure your hotel booking from this site. It not only helps me maintain my ongoing research to provide you with as much valuable travel information on Thailand as possible, but it also encourages me to continue my dream of travel and my love of writing.
If you are looking for a much more affordable option complete with all the bells and whistles, then the Mukdara Beach Resort could well be the place to stay. Being a fairly large resort, it may not be the most intimate but what it lacks in intimacy it more than makes up in other areas. Located north of Khao Lak town on Bang Niang Beach, this gorgeous resort is designed in true Thai style with a great deal of emphasis placed on natural wood and traditional craftsmanship.
The seventy rooms, sixty-four villas and seven suites are all tastefully designed with beautiful Thai furnishings. Choosing one of the villas facing the beach would add just that little bit extra sparkle to your stay. All the rooms, villas and suites come complete with safes, refrigerators and internet connection while the resort itself has several restaurants and bars, as well as a spa, gym and tennis court.
Le Meridien Beach and Spa Resort on Pakweeb Beach may not be the ideal romantic getaway but it is a great escape for family holidays. It's especially favourable for kids as there are lots of entertainment for children, including water sports such as snorkelling and scuba diving. You'll find this 243-roomed resort located on an isolated 12 kilometre stretch of beach to the north of Khao Lak town.
The resort offers you elegant guest rooms and villas designed in a contemporary Thai style, set among 50 acres of lush tropical greenery and also within easy reach of the beach. Whether you come here for leisure, corporate or family holidays, you can expect the very best from the more than friendly and helpful staff. Amenities here include restaurants, spas, bars, pools and a gymnasium.
Don't need to be a wealthy superstar to stay at the 77 room upscale La Flora Beach Resort north of Khao Lak town on Bang Niang Beach
because not only does the resort offer luxurious stand alone villas
but also less expensive options in their three-tiered hotel wings. The
beachfront villas are all furnished in elegant contemporary Asian style
complete with day beds, stylish bathrooms and balconies, many of which
have stunning sea views. While the usual spa and pool are standard
issues the resort also offers mountain bike and kayak rental.
