Without any doubt, the poshest place to stay on Koh Chang has got to be at the Amari Emerald Cove Resort. It is currently the island's top hotel and lives up to its five-star reputation with spacious and stylish contemporary Asian design. While it might seem a little isolated for some, it more than makes up for it with its fancy feeling, high level of service, restaurants and the superb Sivara Spa.
The resort is located on the southern shore of Klong Prao Beach on the island. It belongs to the Koh Chang National Marine Park and occupies a lovely tranquil locality complete with its own palm-shaded sandy terrace and an enormous seafront swimming pool. The 165 deluxe style rooms are all tastefully decorated in low-rise three-story units set around the pool, tropical garden and lagoons.
You will have large picture windows to gaze out across the lush tropical grounds embellished with fountains and wooden bridges when you stay at one of seventy-seven Koh Chang Tropicana Resort and Spa rooms. The property is nestled on the southern shores of Klong Prao Beach on the island's west coast.
To greet you near the ocean is a large circular pool and a reasonably good spa. This resort is a tranquil place to simply relax and treat yourself to a holiday complete with luxurious living and some excellent service with a unique touch.
Bhumiyama Beach Resort set on Lonely Beach is made up of bungalows and cottages which are modern and classy with white walls, interesting decor and lots of polished wood. While it might be the poshest place on the beach, make sure that when making your booking, you ask for a room with a sea view.
Some rooms tend to be a little past their prime with rudimentary garden settings. Only the more expensive ones have sea views. All the 45 rooms at this resort have air-conditioning and access to the pool, making this beach resort a place of peace and tranquillity in which to have a relaxing vacation.
Barali Beach Resort is one of the most elegant and tastefully designed resorts located on the south side of Klong Prao Beach. This 40 roomed Balinese-style accommodation is nestled around a tropical beachfront garden setting and encompassed within a natural valley with a majestic emerald green mountain backdrop.
Complementing the scene is an infinity-edge swimming pool. All the rooms are furnished with four-poster beds, sunken baths and lots of polished wood. Relax in style, get pampered or sit back and enjoy the unique panoramic views of ocean sunsets and gentle breezes from the Gulf of Siam.
Koh Chang Paradise Resort and Spa is located on an enormous patch of land between the road and the southern shore of Klong Prao Beach. All the eighty-roomed Balinese-style bungalows are designed with big glass-fronted windows and feature comfortable and elegant away-from-home air-conditioned interiors. Some have indoor-outdoor bathrooms, swimming pools and full sea views while others have garden views. The resort is within reach of the 260-metre stretch of beach. It's ideal for a romantic escape and for a family vacation.
The seventy-four room, two suite Sea View Resort located at the far end of the majestic Kai Bae Beach is the most upmarket place in which to stay on the west coast of the Koh Chang. The resort is set on a beautiful tropical flower garden full of local plants and shrubs and the gentle shifting lines of coconut palms. As the name suggests, Sea View is a resort for sea-lovers due to its silky white sandy beach offering plenty of space in which to relax, swim and soak up the sun.
