Thailand's Dumbest Con Artists

This is a short chronicle about one of Thailand's Dumbest Con Artists of which I admit, I just could not help writing about. This one including many others, typifies the mold of what species of classless simpletons there are out there hankering to fill the local headlines with their willy-nilly ways. Please note that there's no shortage of characters like this in the country.

Take the struggle of one dumb elderly nearly seventy year old local woman and her equally spineless partner who were simply refusing to pay for their fabulous two week stay at a swanky hotel in seductive southern Thailand.

Was it because they simply were not happy with the inadequacy of their luxury suite or was it some shoddy service they had received or perhaps it was the lack of ample food displayed at breakfast that was not quite up to their standard. I was wondering if this could possibly work for tourists too should they need to get away without having to foot their respective bills.

What were these retards thinking! Was the old lady suffering from some unknown form of dementia. Perhaps she was under the impression that the cost of accommodation coincided with her age and that, as a result, would entitle her to a similar discount. You have to give her full marks for trying.

On the other hand if the old lady added her age and that of her partner together, then it's just possible they could have stayed longer. Perhaps I shouldn't mention it here in case someone else takes the same attitude.

Anyway these dimwits whose names I shall not mention ( just in case they sue me for some unrelated matter) tried to fill the authorities with a lot of hookas polkas. The old duck told the feds that she is a millionairess when in fact, she could hardly even afford to pay that much attention let alone thrash those fake Louis Venter bags she was seen hauling around, in a rather pathetic attempt by divert the real calamity of her situation.

For smarter ordinances and also for the record, those expensive bags are actually called Louis Vuitton but then again you knew that all along. It is just that my good friend in Bangkok called these imitations Louis Venters.

Dumbest Con Artists Disputes

Police were soon called out to investigate the dispute between the hotel management and the old woman over what appeared to be non-payment for room expenditure. The fraudster claimed she was wealthy with friends and associates in high places. She argued that she was in fact waiting for a large transfer of funds from her multimillion baht international business empire to her bank account so that this might settle her unpaid account.

However because of her constant money bragging, it only made the police that much more suspicious of her ludicrous claims. After accompanying her new found friends to a more comfortable spot at their local police station, the truth was finally revealed. After checking for any prior criminal record, it was uncovered that this particular incident was by no means the first. This old lady had a similar case of fraud at another fancy hotel in Bangkok.

It appears that these dumbest con artists had repeated a similar swindle a few years earlier and had been on the run ever since. Why on earth did she and her partner wait so long before trying out other luxuriant hotels. There are so many wonderful places they could have taken advantage of.

Was it because her multimillion baht international business empire wasn't what she claimed it to be then as it is now, or was it because she just couldn't find a more luxurious hotel suitable for her moneyed taste.

Nevertheless the tricksters male partner who was also being detained for questioning, preferred to keep mom about any possible dirty dealings. His lips were sealed. Seems that he had no ideal about what was going on. I know nothing! Good for him. Best to play stupid. Right. That way you can transfer all the blame on your old lady. Shame on you.

Well as things tuned out yet another nasty twist, the fraudsters will have to face their day in court to explain to the judge why they where trying to cheat this hotel out of non-payment for services rendered before heading to Bangkok to deliver another shocking statement to a courtroom there.

Would it not have been a lot better for the old lady to have booked herself into a luxury old age home so that she might get sound financial advice on how to spend all that non-existent money she appeared to not have had.

The moral of this story is... If you owe money for your stay, don't attempt to talk your way out of the hornet's nest, as a tip, it's best to quietly slip out the back door (that usually means escaping via the kitchen) or scream out loud that there's a madman on the loose in the foyer and then make a mad made dash for the front door.
