Isn't it just truly amazing how many dumb criminals are actually out there wandering around our neighborhoods pretending to be ever so cool. Some are so utterly simple-minded that they are often completely unaware that the long arm of the law is about to catch up with them. Silly, Silly, Silly.
Whether the criminals are trying to rob convenience stores, steal tourists possessions or sell drugs to under-cover cops, they generally don't realize how foolishly negligent and brainless they allow themselves to become.
There are several bizarre news reports emanating out of Thailand that have some rather dodgy and hilarious undertones. They may not always be original but one thing is for certain... Most of these stories are seldom dull.

Dumb Criminals
Italian Muay Thai Boxer
How stupid can one be to sell drugs on the streets of Thailand as one 37 year old Italian did. Not only was this a bad career decision on his part but this particular fellow was also a well-known Muay Thai Boxer in Pattaya.
Renzo Tolve from Sardinia soon found himself in a pickle on the day of his arrest as he would now not be performing his next scheduled fight for his fans later that same night. One could however see him appearing in court to answer charges of drug possession. No means the best substitute.
Police had received a tip-off that Renzo was selling marijuana to tourists and other Thai boxers so a sting operation was put in place near Walking Street. The suspect pitched up at the agreed rendezvous to meet his unknowing fate. Caught off guard, he was found to be in possession of not only marijuana but also a small amount of a substance called Ya Ice. His bike, money and a cell phone was seized. Do not buy or sell drugs here.
Rushing Russians
Dumb Criminals
Silk Shirt Stealing
Why would any tourist try and seize an opportunity to steal in a country where there are just so many fantastic bargains on offer for shoppers. One overwhelmed Russian tourist however couldn't resist the temptation. What is of particular interest in this case is that it was sale time in Thailand. Many shops and stalls were already selling goods at discount prices.
A 51 year old Russian man had gone to Mike's Shopping Mall in Pattaya with his family for some leisurely shopping when they stumbled upon a shop selling silk shirts. After rummaging through various items of clothing, the man then purchased a rather cheap silk shirt. Shame on you.
Inquiring as to the price of other shirts with missing tags, the saleslady offered to go and check with the boss. When she returned the saleslady found a missing shirt and the Russian family were no longer in the shop.
The Russians were later spotted rushing out of the Mall by security and asked to show the contents of their bags. In one, security found a silk shirt valued at 780 baht from the same shop that had not been paid for.
It was a free gift the Russian said due to the purchased of another shirt at the shop. Yeah! very unlikely. He was then asked to pay for the item to which he refused. The police were summoned and still he denied he had stolen the shirt so he was taken down to the police station for further investigation and later charged with theft. Stealing is a dumb idea.
