Crocodile Farm and

Million Years Stone Park in Pattaya

Million Years Stone Park Entrance

Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm is a pretty impressive tourist attraction and only about a fifteen-minute drive over the Sukhumvit Road from Pattaya City. This huge seventy-acre park first opened its doors in 1992.

The vast gardens appear to be both beautiful and bizarre with so much gigantic and strangely shaped stones (some weigh well over seventy-five tonnes) interacting with the natural beauty of many amazing award-winning bonsai trees as well as lots of shrubs and flowers of various descriptions and colour combinations.

I'm told that many of the trees in the park here are over one hundred million years old. You can only but marvel at all the fabulous forms of nature there are here. Many of the striking rock formations resemble various animal shapes. There's even a huge artificial waterfall believed to be the biggest of its kind in Thailand.

Big Beautiful Bizarre Boulders

Strange Shrubs and Stones

The Million years stone park has a large collection of natural objects that are not only rare but highly sort after simply because of their strange shapes and sizes. There are some Thai-style trained trees more than 200 years old that originate from the early Rattanakosin period as well as many fossilised tree trunks that are millions of years old. The enormous stones and strange animal shaped stratified rocks here are quite valuable too.

I know of an American billionaire who purchased quite a number of these strangely shaped stones for his own enormous garden.

Wildlife

A special feature here is the giant Mekong Catfish, which you can view in the lake. Some of them I am led to believe, weigh up to and as much as eighty kilogrammes. You're allowed to feed them. I once threw in a small loaf of bread and it was gone in a matter of seconds. There are also some endangered Thepha fish from Thailand and snakehead fish from the Amazon River. You aren't allowed to catch any so please leave your fishing rods at home.

The park accommodates an assortment of the usual Thai animals, including elephants and tigers, but there are also some unusual animals from all around the world, including Himalayan bears, Egyptian dromedary camels and Peruvian Llamas Bird life include African ostrich and some serious looking Australian cassowary.

Salt and Fresh Water Crocodiles

Of course, the big attraction here is the crocodiles and the shows they produce. There are hundreds of thousands of both saltwater and freshwater crocodiles living here in the parks natural shady surroundings. Though I didn't exactly count them all but I can assure you that there certainly is a heck of a lot of them here. The Million Years Stone Park and Crocodile Farm is open daily with an entrance fee of around 300 Baht for adults.
