Crocodile Farm and Stone Park

Million Years Stone Park Entrance

Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm is a pretty impressive tourist attraction and only about a fifteen minute drive over the Sukhumvit Road from Pattaya City. This huge seventy acre park first opened it's doors in 1992.

The vast gardens appear to be both beautiful and bizarre with so many gigantic and strange shaped stones (some weigh well over seventy five tons) interacting with the natural beauty of many amazing award-winning bonsai trees as well as lots of shrubs and flowers of various descriptions and colour combinations.

I believe that many of the trees in the park are hundred's of millions of years old. You can only but marvel at all the fabulous forms of nature that there are here. Many of the striking rock formations resemble various animals shapes. There's even a huge artificial waterfall believed to be the biggest of it's kind in Thailand.

A special feature at the park are the giant Mekhong catfish that you can view in the lake. They must weigh at least 80 kilo's. You are allowed to feed them too. I once threw in a small loaf of bread and it was gone in a matter of a few seconds. There are also some endangered Thepha fish from Thailand and snake-head fish from the Amazon River. You aren't allowed to catch any so leave the rods alone.

The park accommodates an assortment of the usual Thai animals which include elephants and tigers but there are also some unusual animals from all around the world including Himalayan bears, Egyptian dromedary camels and Peruvian Llamas

Bird life include African ostrich and some serious looking Australian cassowary. Of course the big attraction here are the crocodiles and all the shows they produce. There are hundred's of thousands of both saltwater and freshwater crocodiles living here in the park's shady natural surroundings. Now! I didn't exactly count them all but I can assure you that there certainly are heck of a lot of them here.

The park is open daily with an entrance fee of around 300 baht for adults
